On the way to the Arc: WALDGEIST takes G2 Prix Foy

Repeating the preperatory route he took to the G1 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe last year, WALDGEIST scored a fine win in today's €130,000 G2 Prix Foy and, in doing so, extended his lifetime record to seven group wins. The Galileo-colt was given a breezy trip behind the pace around the oval at Paris-Longchamp by his steady partner Pierre-Charles Boudot and when the jockey called on him as the field entered the final stretch, WALDGEIST responded in his usual style, making steady ground powerfully and drawing further away from the field with every jump. After 2400 m, the pair had packed a solid two lengths margin between themselves and their opponents. If all goes according to plan, they will meet a high profile field next month in what is shaping up to be a historic edition of the 5 million euro race.
