LADY FRANKEL third on Gr.1 level on Arc day

Today, LADY FRANKEL by Frankel out of LADY VETTORI ran the race of her life in France's most important challenge for fillies and mares, the €400,000 G1 Prix de l'Opéra. The 2000 m classical race that is traditionally held on the day of Europe's most important race, the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe was bursting with Europe's female elite whereas Lady Frankel was only given a longshot position at best. The three-year-old, however, did nothing wrong with Pierre-Charles Boudot aboard and finished a formidable third, not even one length behind the Irish co-favorites, Rhododendron and Hydrangea, after putting up a great fight down the stretch.
