LOPE DE VEGA progeny in great demand at Tattersalls

LOPE DE VEGA's increasing success at stakes level this season has not gone unnoticed and is reflected in the Sharmadal-son's result at this year's October Yearling Sale at Tattersalls where he emerged in the Top 10 of the leading sire list for the first time. While his progeny yielded an average sale price of 244,941 guineas in Book 1 of last year's sale and saw him in 18th place, this year averaged at 299,276 guineas per yearling and catapulted him to 10th place in the ranking. Book 1, fifteen of his progeny were sold for a little over six million guineas. An average of close to 100,500 in Book 2 was not a bad result either. Top seller for LOPE DE VEGA in Book 1 was a colt out of the Montjeu-mare Bikini Babe (IRE), a daughter of the top-mare Zeitling who counts Precieuse to her lineage.
